Fireplace

The product portfolio director at Iittala, Christel Vaenerberg invited Ilkka Suppanen to generate the design for a modern fireplace. Named Fireplace, it was an unusual product for Iittala and there were many complex technical challenges associated with it. However, Vaenerberg believed in it and encouraged Suppanen to bring the design to actualization. Her intuition proved to be right as Fireplace was an instant success, becoming an iconic product for Iittala that later developed into its current form as Kaasa Fireplace.
