Marimekko has a strong tradition in the design of bold graphic prints. Forming part of the 2007 collection the Marhaba pattern is inspired by the mathematical geometry of Arab culture and patterns seen in a Caliph’s window while travelling. The Lines pattern is reminiscent of a musical stave and provides a calming backdrop for the activities of everyday life. Both the Marhaba and Lines fabric use the same width of line to produce the pattern: this continuity between the patterns means that they are easily and attractively combined.
