2005 lucente

A group of Scandinavian designers including Claesson Koivisto Rune, Thomas Sandell, Norway Says and Ilkka Suppanen were approached by the lighting manufacturer Lucente to design lamps based on the theme of the Scandinavian home and light. The Lokki lamp derives its shape from the wings of a seagull: the two bulbs sit in the middle of the lamp so that the underside of the wings are lit: creating a soft and gently light. Variations include a ceiling, floor and wall light. This experimental and bold shape emphasises the importance of the role of lighting within a space: it also points to the rich Scandinavia heritage of sailing and the sea.
