The linear design of the wall panel was created to act as a unifying and recognisable backdrop for Artek furniture at exhibitions and stores. Additionally the panel provides space to allow objects to be attached to it and notes and comments to be posted. The ‘Don’t Forget to Play!’ Artek exhibition in Stockholm 2008 encouraged interaction between the visitors and the exhibits: children and adults decorated the furniture using brightly coloured paint and their fingers: this meant the exhibition was a continually evolving installation. A series of rods suspended from the ceiling aimed to define the space and contribute to the sense of fun in the exhibition.
